I think this is the number one discussion on various youtube videos and nobody seem to agree. Some have footage that shows 4K beeing better while others have footage that shows 2.7K beeing better. I know there is more bitrate per pixel with 2.7K but at the same time 4K records at a much higher resolution that should make it sharper anyways?

I'm not seeing a massive resolution difference between the two. As well as flying, I'm an editor for TVs and film, and we use software and hardware by a company called Avid. The software and dji cameras don't get on that great, and we see a lot of moire and aliasing from dji aircraft, especially Inspire 1s. The downscaling from 2.7k for a 1080p delivery compared to that from 4K footage definitely improves the aliasing, so I've ended up shooting everything recently in 2.7k.
