I'm not sure, I took a DNA test which said I was 75% Irish and the only other thing I have to go off is my grandmother used to say we were black Irish, what ever that means?

I had a irish roommate, there's a lot from the hmong community here. He said he had beef with a guy and there was a fight setup after school. But in hmong ways, you fight one brother you fight them all. So he claims he was beating 5 of them and then the 6th brother he didn't see kicked him in the nuts from behind he got beat lol

So we've always used that as a benchmark. One irish can take down 5 asians. You're 75% so maybe 3.

One such example is that of the hundreds of thousands of Irish peasants who emigrated to America after the Great Famine of 1845 to 1849. 1847 was known as 'black 47'. The potato blight which destroyed the main source of sustenance turned the vital food black. It is possible that the arrival of large numbers of Irish after the famine into America, Canada, Australia and beyond resulted in their being labelled as 'black' in that they escaped from this new kind of black death.

1 million Irish people died as a result of the great famine.

Even at 75% I could take out at least 6.

Here's what Wikipedia says about it: Black Irish.

One of the things I enjoy about about the forum is picking up the occasional word or phrase that's unique to the U.K. or at least new to me -- like "wheelie bins". Nice.

Great but aerial was referring to Irish immigrants who immigrated to us, because of famine in Ireland, these also became known as black Irish for very different reasons, but I like your one better.
