Is there a DJI recommneded car charger?

These batteries cost far too much to use any 3rd party chargers.

Why? The battery controls the charging process, not the 'charger'. So as long as the charger supplies the correct voltage, which is 17.5 volts DC, then it should be fine.

I wish I could have used the trickle charger on my SpYder RS-S to recharge my intelligent flight battery array...
Though the engine must be running, or the outlet is dead.
It's only useful for my iPad.

$62 is kinda steep for a charger. At that point I'm about halfway to another battery.  I think i'll go with a $15 inverter.

Most inverters (especially cheap ones) output very ugly non-sinusoidal waveforms. This can create havoc with electronics, and with the DJI standard adapter being a switching power supply, I think you'd be better off using the 12V charger if you can afford it. Pretty cheap compared to the cost of the drone itself. I have one and it works perfect, even with the 3 bay adapter. A bonus is that you can use a booster battery with a 12V output for offline charging. In case you are wondering, the car charger also is a booster switching power supply that raises the voltage to same voltage as the regular charger and from my experience charges at the same rate.

A cheap inverter may not work well for this application.
