Hi

I am a novice when taking pictures and video and is trying to improve my settings for the mavic. I sometimes get this roundish darker circle in the middle of  an "over exposed video".  Just want to know if this is normal?

I can't see anything. Maybe it's your monitor? Can you mark the darker circle with a red line or something? Just in case it is my fault and I am looking in the wrong place ;-)

Yeah I think it's your monitor, I can't see anything wrong with it either.

The red line more or less is the darker pixels I see on my monitor

Sorry, I also can't see a dark area (MacBook Pro with Retina display), but a bit overexposed as you say. Downloaded jpg and looked at online....both the same.

Thanks, glad that there is nothing wrong. Or maybe we see things differently from the southern hemisphere. {:4_177:} Going to try a nd filter in the future. Is it better to get the Freewell range or the Polar Pro brand?

I see this round circle in your original picture as well. It is a known problem, because camera sensor is so small. Sometimes this circle becomes red in white backgroung.

In the picture(video) the drone is in a shallow cave entrance in the shade, but I do have other examples where the drone is in the sun. I don't think it has anything to do with the sun?.

I hope you don't see it, because once you start to see it, there is no turning back. Have a look at the post from "thehippoz" https://forum.dji.com/thread-80934-1-1.html

Hey man i can see it on your original pic, i recall seeing this problem reported on the above links, though much more evident than yours.
I think you will need to return unit for replacement camera. Hope im wrong but i think its hardware error.

So there is nothing DJI will do to correct it?
I dont seem to have that issue from an October model.
Have you tried using ND filters to see if it removes the issue?

Greetings from chilly sun setting Tasmania

My manufacturing date is 16th March 2017, received the drone on the 4th of April 2017. I bought it from an authorised DJI dealer in Cape Town. Still waiting for ND filters to arrive from China, but ND filters do not make any difference according to the threads.

I saw some amazing pictures of the aurora borealis in Tasmania from an ex South African, now a photographer in Hobart. More cold is coming you're way, Just had some snow over the interior of the country over the weekend. But still very dry in the Western Cape,
