I only just got my drone it works fine but will only fly for 50mts and then it says no signal and wants to land.
Iam shore it is just a setting can someone please help ??

Aloha Andrew,

     There is a setting called "Beginner Mode".  When you are comfortable, disable beginner mode so you can fly to your comfort level.

The beginner mode is set by default to 30 mts only on the P3S if i not wrong. But the 30 mts distance and 30 mts  height are around 50 mts in total. Then try to disable the beginner mode.

If it says "Maximum distance reached" then you're probably in Beginner mode as mentioned.

But if it says "Signal lost - auto landing" like you said in the question then you have a problem with it.

See if anything looks loose or broken, try again. ps what Phantom ?

Is is possible you have "Return to Home"  behavior set to Land vs Return to Home or Hover..............that would account for the P3 landing when signal is lost.  Not sure about the 50 meter range.
Do you have the latest firmware?

AND IT SELF LANDS

Hi Andrew,  like Tmygun mentioned ,what behavior you have set ,  Return-To-Home, or Land?  Please refer to the steps in the picture to check it. As for the 50 meter range, have you tried to adjust the antennas? Besides , make sure the firmware is up to date.   

I thing what you asked was cut and clear. After 50mts, and if it says signal lost.. and you are not flying the copter with a building in between you and the copter... and if it says signal lost.. return it. Get another one if you can.  When you get another one dont update the drone. Just fly it and see if it runs fine with the firmware it comes with. It if works, dont do a firmware update. What you have is a problem. there are no settings for that.

It's not in beginners mode and it is set on return to home when there is no signal
I have moved the aerial around to see if that helps I even took the remote apart to see if the aerial wire was still hooked up
I have done a firmware update.
Don't know where to go from here

Could you happen to clarify what mobile device you're using and what Go app/ firmware versions you're running? Have you already tried relinking the WiFi module and refreshing the WiFi signal connection from the device's end?

Resetting the WiFI module can be found in the P3S user manual. Regarding refreshing the WiFi connection on the device's side, you would 'forget' the WiFi network, refresh your WiFi list and connect to it again.

I will put a Argtec antenna on and see how much further I can get

To go from 50m to 700m is magnificent- so why the need for range extenders?

What kind of areas are you flying in? Are you still using the iPhone 6 or a different device? Have you checked your antenna positioning on the RC?
