[size=14.666666984558105px]Leeds Drone Club (can be found on Facebook) are having a meet-up at Middleton Park in Leeds this coming Saturday 1pm-4pm. I'm going along to this to see what's going on, anyone thinking of going?

[size=14.666666984558105px]It's an authorised area for flying UAVs and drones in Leeds - well the only public place as it happens.

Hello there, this sounds like something i would like to attend - How often do these take place ? As it goes i gotta work this weekend , but certainly up for a future event.

Gutted I couldn't make it.
Will we meet again?

Hi Maveriksam/Nsouldrone - I went to Middleton Park but it was a really boring location and there was some friction from the Model Aircraft people. The place is huge. I think there will be some more meet ups. Maybe at Baildon Moor or Rawdon Meadows where there are better landscapes and buildings for a more interesting flight & film with your DJI product. I went to Baildon Moor today but it needs to be a really still day no winds. UAV Forecast told me 9mph winds but I got several hind wind warnings. It's a beautiful venue though and in Bradford so no Leeds Bye-Law. I will post again if I hear anything

I understand there have been some difficulties with Leeds City Council and flying at Middleton Park. I never met with anyone from the model aircraft group so can't confirm any exact details. Turn up at Middleton Park and have a chat with them (on most Sunday's) to get more detail. I'm not going again as it was really boring flying there.

There are a few pilots in Sheffield but no club, so to speak. I just go out and prefer my own company and flying. If there are any pilots looking for a tandem flight then drop me a bell.
