Hi all,

Hope flying is going well

Finally got the SSD card and have been shooting in the ProRes for the first time. The clips are all now in 40sec chuncks and about 4GB which from other threads is a limitation of the formatting system but hay ho!
When the files are this big it focusses the mind and as i watch the clips some i just want to dete straight away. I have a Mac and using Finder deleting files or folders is not an option. Has anyone deleted files at all? I will fire the I2 up again and see if it is in the app somewhere but would rather do it on the Mac.

Thanks

Dean

I just reformat the drive in the Inspire with each flight.

Do you transfer only the footage you want to keep to a HDD first then? That is a lot of storage space and probably will take a long time.

I only have one 480GB SSD (at the moment!)

So is formatting it the only option?

Formatting the CineSSD via the DJI Go app is the only option. The CineStation is read-only. I copy the files to a hard drive then eject the CineSSD, re-insert in the bird and format. Only solution at this time.

Cobra is correct. You must reformat the SSD card using the Inspire 2.

I always transfer the files to another hard drive which is used for editing.

By the way, transferring with my Mac is very fast.  I transfer to an SSD or a RAID.

Hope this helps.

Like others have mentioned, you would format the SSD via the Go app to clear it. It's a pretty fast process, so you shouldn't have to spend a lot of time on it.

How fast is "very fast"? I'm hoping to store clips from the SSD onto a RAID array in the field via USB 3.0. The RAID will probably be a Drobo or Synology with 4 x 8TB drives. I'm using an i7 laptop with 32G of RAM.

Thank you.

The CineStation is USB 3.0 which is 5 gigabits per second which is theoretically around 600 MB/s. In reality you probably won't get near that even copying to the fastest SSD due to the SATA port limitation.
