The Spark will be my first drone at age 70. I suspect it'll have a broad age range appeal.

Surprised to see the 61 - 70 group in the lead.  In my opinion the Spark is gear to the selfie generation which I think is under 20 but I guess the 21 - 30 have the bucks to by one as they are the second to the old guys.

You should include age 2-5, 6-10, 11-15 too. Because this is the kind of drone parents will buy their kids (for Christmas).

I have up to and including 20, I think 0/10 is maybe a little to young or we might have a generation of pilots with missing digits.

I think one of the problems with the younger generation not buying dji drones in general is they just can't afford them. Every young person I know (under 35) is living paycheck to paycheck.

That is because they are trying to pay for their $800 iphones.

But on topic, I'm 65, had 3 P3As and gave them away to friends and relatives. I currently fly my P3P and my Mavic. I got the Spark as I just enjoy the technology especially when it is such a small package. I live in the country, on acreage, so it makes flying easy - right out my back door.

I just bought the DJI Spark Combo pack, and I'm 21. I the first place I was going to order a Phantom 4 Pro but then DJI launched the Spark. I really hate the fact that it takes too long to set up a Phantom. I've owned multiple drones from DJI. I just need quick shots with post production. I'm using this for private but also work (real estate shootings) and theatre promo videos. I think DJI Spark will save me lots of time however I need to take the downside which means less quality. I can't really tell because I need to fly first.

I agree this will be used most as a toy by < 20 age. But because it looks like a toy I can fly this thing in more situations without much trouble. With my previous Phantom 2 with GoPro (recently sold) people we're always kinda freaking out.

I still think with the right settings and light a bit of post work a reasonable photographer will be able to achieve good results, would love to know how you get on using it commercially. Enjoy.

Thanks. I still hope DJI will add 60 fps 1080p mode or 2.7K 30 fps mode with a software update. I don't film a lot, but it's not that bad on 1080p 30 fps if you look on some videos with professional color grading. I'm not sure yet if the Spark shoots in RAW photo.. but we'll see.

And also most people watch my videos on their phone or laptop screen, it's not really necessary for me to get high res movies and for the photos I don't think it's a big difference between Mavic and the Spark.

Can't find out how to edit my post, but I found out there is no RAW formats for photos

Anyway with Auto Exposure Bracketing...

and the other settings:
Single Shot
Burst Shooting: 3 frames
Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB): 3 bracketed frames at 0.7 EV bias
Interval: 2/3/5/7/10/15/20/30/60 s

it's probably not that bad for JPEG photos. But if DJI is able to add extra's by software I'd rather have RAW format photos instead of more FPS on video or higher resolution video. However, I'm still not disappointed because this maybe makes my life easier, editing in Photoshop takes to much time of my life

I turned 65 and retired.  To celebrate both events, my wife gave me the Mavic FlyMore.  I ordered the Spark FlyMore (white) because the Mavic is so much fun.  Yeah - I'm in that "61 to 70"  vote.          FYI - I Do Not do selfies!

Think it will surprise a lot of people how creative pilots and photographer alike will be with these little birds.
Great hobby for your retirement, hope dji are fully aware of the age range that are using their Aircrafts.

Enjoy your retirement.
Good luck.

I'm 31 and this is my first drone, though I've flown P4s and even an Inspire I before.

Went back and forth between a Spark and Mavic before deciding that the smaller size and affordability of the Spark was the direction I wanted to go.

If the Mavic 2 handles 60 FPS I'm sure I'll upgrade in the future.

This 60fps and 2.7k wont happen any time soon.. It may not even happen...
I think the reason that the Spark can only do 1080p@30fps is to do with the processing power. What many don't know is how resource hungry the "ultrasmooth" electronic image stabliisation (EIS) is. The Spark's camera is possibly already filming in 2.7K/4K and then software is stabilising both roll and yaw and erratic movements and then cropping back down to 1080p on the fly.

This product seems to appeal more to amateur photo and video producers. Maybe youtubers and bloggers without a big budget.
Talking about software updates to improve the camera, it looks pretty impossible to me. The max I imagine them doing is allowing 24 or 25 fps for example. I doubt the resolution can possibly increase.

I agree I don't imagine the cpu in these aircraft can handle 4K, 24/25 looks to me the best they can do, not to sure if dng is possible, we shall see, I do expect some very creative things will happen with this little fella.

Good for have to say I laughed when I saw how small it was but built of sturdy stuff, to much rain and wind here to try it out but can't wait.

Good luck with CAA, can be daunting but once you get into it you'll be glad you done it.

I'm 19 yrs old.

I purchased this mainly because of the amount of technology which was packed into such a small and portable drone. Portability was really important as I plan to take this on my travels and holidays.

Well if I wanted something small but powerful, why didn't I get the Mavic? My budget... I didn't want to spend more than £600.  This ticked most of the boxes for someone who is just entering into the world of drones.
