Interesting find and capture DA.    I can't tell you how many people I've towed over the years.  Sadly most were for poor planning and ran out of fuel.  One gent lost his prop so that I can understand needing an emergency tow, but come on, run out of fuel.

lol,    I had to get a tow once,   the wind was terrible and the engine stopped working.   Luckily we were in a narrow section of the estuary - only about 40ft wide so recovery was easy.

does make you wonder what the requirement is for it.   The RNLI are often out in the Thames when we walk along it.

Not something we're ever likely to see here - too far inland.
Although maybe Manchester Ship Canal has one.

Theres only 5 inland stations at Carrybridge, Enniskillen, Loch Ness, Lough Derg and Lough Ree.

Yeah, that was a rough situation...no wind and no motor.  Definitely calls for a tow.  
At least it was a short tow.

Turned out to be caused by water in the diesel although we never got to the bottom where it came from and never happened again.

Yeah, that is a bit of a mystery.  I've heard of water in gasoline on more than one occasion but never water in diesel.  I'm wondering if somebody sabotaged the fuel.

I was just catching up with B is for Build and I see the Oregon weather over Christmas sunk his yacht,    froze up two pipes which broke and down it went.

Must have woodworm in the small boat floorboards are missing wonder it’s not got a leak

Oh no, that is really bad.  You really have to protect your pipes up in that area, especially this time of year.

Yep,   he was too busy installing heaters in his various cars,    apparently about 20 boats in the area all sunk.

Id be interested to hear how he gets on with the insurance company as the boat is a little non standard as they fitted LS engines to replace the diesels and then had them tuned.

Hopefully, he reported the modifications to the insurance company when they were done to ensure they were covered under his policy.

Not sure all insurance companies do this but my agent when I first got my boat he came out to take pictures of everything and made sure that I knew I had to report any modifications to him to make sure they would be covered under my policy.  I did switch out some navigation gear and reported it to him.  He had me send new photos of it to put in my file.  Hopefully other companies do that for their insureds.

Good to see there was a helping hand.

Its going to be interesting to see how much work it takes to get it going again,     and he might have to have it removed from the water to get the fuel drained as the Marina he's in has strict rules about stuff like that.

Yeah, the EPA doesn't fool around when it comes to contaminating or polluting the water ways.
