Entered the thread title in the search field with zero hits.  Maybe wrong search terms?
Received the Avata 2 combo kit today.
Charged up the batteries, HC2, and Goggles3. Activated. Updated the firmware. Went through all the tutorial and played around with the AR cursor and PIP. Initiated motor start up and shut down.
One issue. G3 compass needed recalibration. Did the head movements as directed. Recalibration failed. Went sort of outside. Raining. Stood on the porch and repeated the process with the same result.

Did have the iPhone in the pocket. House and porch have a steel roof.  Maybe the causes of failer to recalibrate?

Hi, OldGuy2024. Thank you for reaching out. When doing compass calibration, please avoid the following:
a. Do not calibrate the compass in locations where magnetic interference may occur such as close to magnetite deposits or large metallic structures, like parking structures, or steel-reinforced basements.
b. Do not carry objects that contain ferromagnetic materials such as mobile phones near the aircraft during calibration.
c. Do not calibrate the compass in locations close to large metal parts.
d. Do not calibrate the compass indoors.

Please change the flight environment to calibrate the compass. If compass calibration fails in other flight environments, please let us know.

Thanks for the info. Eventually found the info you posted. Store the toys in the lower level of the house. A "walkout basement".   Gave it one more try before heading to bed last night. Brought up the status. Everything is calibrated. Bit clueless why. Since I didn't do anything but power up everything.  Only 5 sats captured. Icon was red. Guessing too much mass between the hardware and satellites.

Heading out for a quick test flight. Winds building to F5 today and probably more rain. Which we need.
