The Oyster Catchers revenge.....


After terrorising them with the Avata 2 the Oyster catchers are circling the Mini 3 Pro like they are F16's.

Since I installed the red tape they have kept their distance a bit more though so I think it is working.  

No loaded weapons yet ;-)

Have you seen those beaks?  They’d open an avata in a heart beat.  

Well, now we know drones can birdwatch. No bird has noticed mine. Yet.

Im pretty sure it is,  they would get dangerously close before I installed that.  Also I wonder if they are more aggressive at the moment as its mating season.

I just mentioned mating season in my last reply.    No doubt that would make them much more aggressive.

I try to be careful with them in any season,  but I must confess to chasing them off yesterday when they came to close.    I can see why those drone chases plane things are so much fun.

You need to team up with another Avata 2 pilot and pull off a couple of chase scenes.

Mating season or not hopefully they'll leave the Mini 3 Pro alone when you have it up.  I guess you could always put the Avata 2 up first to scare them away.

I had another near miss yesterday but I think this was an accident as it was a one off and no sign of the bird after that,  Im, going to post a frame from the video so we can play guess the bird.

Just flown two Avata batteries in manual including the take off.    I did flip to N for landing though.    Quick break before I fly the last battery.

For the first day in about a week Ive had a bird free day,   just flown an OSR field and then a vineyard and been bird free.

They were definitely trying to warn you off.

Bird free is always a great thing.  It would seem the birds would be drawn to the OSR field or is that something they don't eat?

Yes and hopefully with summer now here time will be more plentiful.  It's also really nice to see in the goggles and not be struggling in the sun to see the controller.

The dentist office is my least liked place to go.  I try my best to take care of my teeth and gums as I'm not into having cavities, etc.  I had a bad visit to a dentist years back when I had to have a crown put on.  He wore this big college ring and it cut my gums and lip.  I asked if he would please take it off and he refused.  Needles to say I never went back there and gave him a very negative review on Yelp and Google.

Ahh, that is an advantage that I had not thought about.  Too bad the Goggles 3 are not compatible with the Mini 3 Pro.

Maybe after the OSR goes to seed he birds would be interested but in flower theres not much for them.
