Nice location just lacking color on this particular morning.  Still worth making the effort as you never know what you'll see until you get there.

Another grey morning here sadly.

I got three flights in yesterday - beautiful sunny day but very windy - cool to see how the Avata 2 handled it. My FPV RC3 is being delivered today!! Two days early!

Nice,  same thing happened with my Remote too.

I flew three batteries yesterday and one was dedicated to a manual flight with guard rails turned on,   one thing I have noticed is that by setting the resolution to 1080p 100fps you get the fastest response time and that seems to make manual flying a little bit easier.     I flew a whole battery without getting into trouble which was nice,  although nothing to dangerous just basic flying.

Thats cool as I intended to record in 1080p anyway so as not to drain the battery as much and get that all important minute or so in the air while learning. In fact I may only record to the goggles while I learn for that purpose as the flight data will come in handy too in playback.

Great that you did a whole manual flight with no issues. I'm hoping that I'm in the give a month club rather than six months before it clicks. So far, so good!

Ive not noticed any better flight time at 1080p.   If anything it might have been a little shorter due to the higher frame rates.

Yeah, the frame rate will also have an impact won't it. Anyway, I'll still do 1080p as it will only be for reference to learn

Id prefer to film 4k 60 but I feel like the 24ms latency at 1080 100fps is making it easier to start with.

Have you kept the vid to share on here? Would be good to see you fly in manual no matter what stage you are at as I appreciate it is a different world and a huge learning curve.

Im not keeping the raw footage,  Im generating 30gb a day from the avata at the moment,  and if Im using Gyroflow you can double that and I just dont have the storage or backup solution setup for that sort of quantity.

I also delete the raw footage and tend to keep some short vids only - especially if I've previously flown at the same location which is normal when practicing.

I was considering uploading them all to YouTube and just marking them as private as you can always download them if need be,  but Im not sure I can be bothered with that.

IG is the best place for them DA. I think youtubers (in general) won't appreciate fine photography as much. They'll prefer seeing you crashing your drone in a video and telling them how much you hate the Avata 2 so they can feel better justifying not buying one. lol

No doubt it is impossible to get the timing perfectly.  Either you'll get there too early and have to wait or get there right after and will have missed it.

I've got a habit of getting places early, especially to appointments.  However, the thing that peeves me is doctor's appointment times.  Appointment is 2:00 PM so you have to show at 1:45 PM in case you have any paperwork to be done or updated.  Yet, you don't get seen by the Doctor until after 3:00 PM.

It's exactly the same as that here,  and even the first appointment can be running late.  Go figure that.

Yes, I've also ran into late first appointment of the day.  Should be no valid excuse for that.  If I make the effort to get there early or on time then they should reciprocate.

SWMBOd had a blood test last week and she arrived early like she always try to and they saw her early and thanked her for coming early,      she needed a double sit down after that.

Thats the norm here.   this was most unusual.  And they found a vein to take blood first time which never happens to her.

Tell her I feel for her.  As a result of normal physiological variation, some individuals may have small, thin, or hard-to-find veins, making it a challenge for even an experienced medical lab technician to draw blood. This can sometimes be a result of dehydration, which causes the body to constrict its blood vessels.

I had a really senior lab tech tell me one time that certain people have rolling veins caused by the collagen in tissues that anchor veins in place are weakened, causing the vessels to roll when approached by a needle.

My worst experience was at a blood test that 3 techs tried and failed.  So after 7 sticks they brought in the "specialist" and she hit is the first time.   My arm was so bruised the following day that I looked like a drug junkie and was shooting up in that spot.  Had to wear long sleeves the rest of the week to keep down the stares and questions.

Shes usually like that,    she saw one nurse last year that nailed it first time and it was mentioned so the nurse told her what to tell the next person who did it, basically use  x needle,  of size and take it here.   She tried that and it really annoyed the person, so she doesnt mention that anymore.
