I have to say I never fly with one, but it does make me keep more distance.

It's just nice to be able to concentrate on the shot and not worry about clearance. My VO is a federally licensed UAS pilot too. So I can trust her judgement.

True. But sometimes I want to keep my eyes on the screen and still monitor my clearance.

Some of the new models let you se the clearance on the screen through the sensors.
