Flying from moving car or boat and home location

If I fly my drone from a vehicle or boat/ship while it is travelling obviously my position is changing as the vehicle I'm riding in/on moves.

I had a friend years ago run into a problem where the drone he had started giving a warning about being too far from the RTH location even though he was right near the drone next to the ship and it started to RTH to the initial launch location that was miles out to sea by that point.

Will I need to keep manually resetting RTH or has the software improved where I can just fly and land?

There is no dynamic homepoint facility.
You would need to reset your homepoint every 5 minutes or so to prevent getting so far from the home point that the drone thinks it has only enough battery left to get back to where you started.

Unfortunately DJI hasn't made dynamic home point possible yet, but we're hopeful.

We can only hope this will be implemented ASAP, any drone that is capable of tracking subject should have this.
Older DJi drones, even the old Spark offered this feature.
