So now we need a eucalyptus sprayer on the Drone?

Not sure how effective that would be.

As an experiment I'm going to pick up about a half dozen eucalyptus plants from the local nursery and give them a try.  Says they are best planted in early summer and thrive in direct sunlight so should grow well locally.  I think I'll put them in planters alongside my boat dock.

Yes they are.  I call them silence breakers when I hear them locally.  Fortunately, that is not often.

I rarely run into them here.

That makes more sense. For the most part I think the sound of the drone is the best deterrent.

That's good news. The peskiest birds in my local are the gulls.  I've used and air horn and a kite with an owl on both sides to successfully keep gulls away.  On days when there are not enough winds to fly the kite they love to fly over and hold bombing practice on my dock and deck of my boat.  At that point I break out the air horn and they leave for the remainder of the day.

No doubt that's effective but I'm hoping the plants help as well as I can't keep a drone up 24/7.    At least not until they come up with a combined solar and battery powered drone for non-commercial use.

The kite idea is odd. I can't believe that works.

That's funny.

DAFlys mentioned it as an option and then I read some great reviews online and tried it out.  Works better than I had anticipated.  I think it is a combination of the kite moving around and the picture of the owl that keeps them away.

Based on the many articles I've read solar drones can stay in the air indefinitely or fly for days, weeks or even months as they do not need to land to recharge.  Another advantage of solar drones is their reduced environmental impact, as they emit no polluting gases and require no fuel to operate.  Unfortunately, they are only available to commercial users at this time.

Definitely out of the price range for me.  Seems like it would very useful for use by the Border Patrol or a couple of other federal agencies.
