Yes,  thats what happens when you stop the motors in manual mode flight at 250ft.

Oops! I always wondered if you could  turn them back on but I guess you'd be too confused to do it.
Any damage? Found it quickly? Battery still inside?

I tried the usual stick position but they didn’t start.  

I discovered find my drone needs a cable to work so I was walking along with the goggles in the air pressing the esc beep button.    Finally found in long grass with no damage and battery still inserted.  

Chilled footage until end - what happened?

Lucky you! The old Avata had the problem that it ejected the battery on a harder crash...

I was very lucky,    and Ive reset the rocker back to the gimbal control I thought it was configured for.

Yes, a double tap is harder to do by accident.

OMG that first video transition you put in, brought heart to mouth - for a moment I thought it was a crash into the water.   And the mishap at the end was bad enough.  Great views up and down the river.

Gyroflow really does help.

Nice assortment of random clips (except crash).  Loved all the reflections in the water.  For sure I thought you were going to shoot under the flood defence until I saw the row boat.  You've really gained confidence in the Avata 2 already.

I did two runs at the flood defence,  one to get a feel for it,  and the second was to go under until the row boat appeared. .   Oh well theres another day to try it.

Such a robust drone. I always carry a USB C cable so thats good to know.

Lol I don't and I nearly had to phone the other half to bring one down,   luckily by holding the goggles above my head they reconnected to the drone and I could set the ESC beep to help me find them.   There is now a cable in the bag though.

They are also good to use the battery hub as a power bank

I avoid doing that.    After 180 charges you get huge nag screens to replace the battery.

That would annoy. TBH I usually head out with everything 100% charged anyway.

That was a good call to abort when you saw the row boat.  There will be plenty more days to fly under it.

I was lucky with my Mini 3 batteries almost all of them had their tabs break around the 180 charge cycle and DJI replaced them all for free under warranty,  my plus batteries they wouldn't honour though.

They doubled the duration recently too.   24 months on drones and -2 months on batteries.

Low tide will offer you a bit more clearance for the first try also.

It wouldn't hurt to be prepared but I have faith that you will not put it into the water.

I gave it a shot today and I was hitting red on the goggles signal strength so I'll need to have a word and get permission to use the piers in the mooring to do it.

Wonderful...

Picture quality looks a lot better-lovely flight and a great close up of the grass - well done

It's a real shame that the CE rules reduce what is capable in the FCC rules.  I wonder since UK broke off into their own if they might eventually follow something similar to FCC signal strength rules.

Cheers mate,  the video kept running whilst I searched for it and we caught some insects crawling in there.
