Always narked by parking charges,   if the weather had been better I would have driven down to where I flew from and parked for free and had a longer walk.

Parking issues are why I take the bus, wherever practical.

With a bit of planning you can usually find free parking in most places,  but I hadnt done that here and the weather was poor so SWMBOd didnt really want to walk too far.  

Nice pano...better than what DJI can do.

It was miserable weather and then we got stung £7.50 to park for about an hour.

Dang, sounds like you got held up, just not at gun point.  That's a bit of a ridiculous price for just an hour of parking.

It was the fee for the full day,  except thats all you could buy,   if the weather had been better there is a spot 1.5 miles away where you could park and walk in but it was raining and SWMBOd decided wed pay for parking,   it was only after we had parked did we found out how much it was going to cost.

Yeah, that would have been a long walk in the rain.  Still sad they didn't post prices where they could be seen in advance of entering or parking.

We coud have left without paying when we saw that but SWMBOd just paid it as she couldnt be bothered with the hassle,   I would have gone to plan b had I realised.

Sounds like she was thinking we are already here, let's pay and get on with this.  I'm somewhat frugal with my money, I guess that is why I was able to save so much over the years.  I do buy things that I want (yep I said it "want) and not really need but I keep that impulse to a minimum.  

I worked for a senior Captain once that was all about material things.  He wanted to be buried with all his money and inside his vintage RollsRoyce.  He was not happy when I had to tell him that it was against the law to take US currency to your grave and that no cemeteries allowed burial inside a car.

Well thats a new one,  wanting to be buried in a car.    I doubt you'd get away with that here either.

I could just picture in my mind how he would be in his Rolls Royce pulling a U-Haul trailer with all his possessions in it on the way to the graveyard.  Not a pretty sight at all.

If memory serves me right he had Turkish heritage.  Not sure if he had any Egyptian ancestors but he kind of does parallel  there thoughts of what to take into after life.

This guy's IQ was off the chart so he was one super intelligent individual.  However, he was unconventional and slightly strange in many ways.  We always wondered how he got promoted all the way up to Captain.  I'm guessing it was because he was a brilliant strategist.  He did speak four different language fluently.  He could switch from one to another right in the middle of a conversation.  He was like a  mini United Nations.
