What a pile of.......


Taken on a recent flight over the local quarry,   lots of activity on the day and quite some changes to the amount of sand that is now missing.

Thats a proper quarry we just have sand and gravel pits around here,   which reminds me to look where I can park for the gravel pit in Danbury to send the avata in.

That's not "The" blue lagoon, which is in a defunct quarry.  This one is still active.

There are numerous lagoons like that scattered around Buxton. One for each quarry, logically enough.

I read something the other week about the idea of using the quarry to add to the water shortage we see in the summer,   let's hope they dont plumb into the blue lagoon near you.  Although if they did do that we would all have clean pipes.

I suppose realistically if they process the water like they do everything else it should be fine.

Nice shot Mr. B.    That quarry looks like it has been around for centuries for it to be so deep.

They do that in Spain but it’s delivered in a tanker.

Dang, that had to be one really long conveyor belt.  Can you imagine the maintenance that would be required on that belt considering its length and the fact that it is carrying sand?

You're very welcome Mr. B.  the good thing with a limestone quarry is the sides don't cave in like sometimes happens at sand quarries.

I'm almost afraid to ask but here goes anyway.  How's your weather been?  DA reported some rainy and windy days.  I was hoping the UK weather was approaching a normal spring type weather and not so much rain.

So still getting quite the mix of weather.  With hurricane season approaching I've been busy the last two days getting everything prepared well in advance. I'm going to fill up my boat fuel tanks here one day this week and pick up a few flashlight batteries.  I shouldn't need them as I have 2 generators on my live aboard boat and a large generator from my combined storage room/garage.

Its L shaped and runs around a step in the sand level,  I think Its going to be 2 or 3 shots to get a feel for this one.

Its complicated,    the new models still haven't hit the show room yet, and from talking to them the model we may want could be released later.  Then when we order it has to be built to order due to buying it direct to get the special discount we have with them.

Ahh, that could be a lengthy process then.  Good thing you have access to other cars when absolutely needed.

It's not ideal but nice in a way that they changed the models now and not after I had ordered.
