Stout Lock gates maintain the inner harbour at a constant water level.

Great shot Mr. B.    No doubt bringing your boat inside the harbor will be at a premium price.

You found a quiet time of day to capture the harbour Mr B,   early morning?

Interesting. But when do they open it? I see no lock. Only at high tide?

Almost mid-day, in fact. The tide being out was maybe a factor.
It was a little overcast that day so the colours aren't quite as vivid as they were at St Ives.

I expect so. And with space at a premium, possibly on a scale to match the size of the craft?

Thanks Charles. It's a popular holiday destination, despite the small size of the village.

It is a really nice harbor.  I could picture my boat in there for a visit.

I walked up onto the headland, where there were fewer people. Great views from there.
It's a popular town, as the famous seafood chef Rick Stein has his restuarant there.

It should as it is 23 meters in length.  Or maybe it would be a tad to big and I'd have to anchor outside the inner harbor.

That looks maybe the same size as some of those moored up in the harbour.
You wouldn't want to be in the outer harbour. At low tide you be wedged into the mud.

No. It's one of those places where you have to book well in advance.
He has other down-market establishments in the village, but we ate elsewhere.

In looking at a couple of the boats inside I think I could fit.  I'm pretty good at what is called Med mooring stern to.  For sure I would not like to get caught deep in mud until the next high tide.

I imagine it would be like being marooned - and if the boat was left leaning to one side rather than upright, even worse.

We had the same problem in New Orleans at Emeril Lagasse's places. We wanted to try his restaurant but the wait was longer than our stay.

I imagine that those larger, more expensive craft, don't like being out of water.

Short time out of water is not a problem but for long times could require some maintenance issues for seals, gaskets, etc.  I remember when I had my boat in the boatyard for installation of upgraded electronics they had to make special preparations on it as it was out of the water for a month.

That was also when the owner's son stole my Mavic 2 Pro drone along with a few other items and sold them to support his drug addiction.  However, that is a long story for another day.

Yeah, definitely something I'd rather leave in the past.  Turned out to be a sad day for the young adult doing the stealing but a year later it seemed it was what he needed to get back on the straight and narrow.

By the way - drumming is still coming along quite well.  I even surprise myself with my progress.

I'm glad also.  At first I didn't seem to be getting the hang of it and was unsure of some of my instructor's comments on tapes I sent him of non in person sessions.  He once said my snare sound a bit metallic but got it tuned and he liked that.  Next he mentioned my bass drum sounded a bit thumpadumpa.  He explained that in our next in person session.  Hi hats tinny, Cymbals sounded a bit buttery.    I kept thinking I need to learn a whole new language - drummer talk so to speak.

However, I'm hanging in there and getting better everyday.  Got to toot my own horn but the instructor echoed that as well.

I can play like a rock drummer for sure - loud and fast.

I'm going to keep at it as I'd like to be able to play a little funk, jazz, folk, pop and maybe some gospel.

Just a goal to aim for.  Who knows, maybe I'll get good in at least 50% of them.

I'm not trying to be like Keith John Moon.  Although he was probably one of the greatest rock drummers of all time he often displayed his eccentric, self-destructive behavior.
