Newquay harbour, early morning (06h45) the Mavic2Zoom spotted this fishing vessel heading out to the crab and lobster grounds in the Celtic Sea.
I tried to follow for a while, but it's not as easy as I thought

Nice bit of tracking mate! Good work!

Impressive job of tracking the Lola Belle Mr. B.    She was wasting no time to get to the lobster and crab grounds.  Good to see the M2Z get some flying time.  Looked like a great weather day also.

It was a perfect morning for the Dawn Patrol
I was on the clifftop and a bit concerned about getting too low and dropping the drone in the drink

I did fly round it, but the sun in the lens ruined the footage. So I cut it short.

Don't drop it in the drink or else you'd need me to come over and fetch it for you.  

On a dive outing to a lake recently I did find a DJI Phantom drone on the bottom of the lake.  Was just a luck find as it was halve buried in the sandy bottom.  No telling how long it had been there but I'm sure it is no longer flyable.

I stayed at what I judged to be about 20 metres above the water ( negative reading on altitude, of course, as I was up on the cliff. I think that was safe enough.

As much time as I spend on the water you'd think it would be easy to judge distance above water but it isn't an exact science for sure.  Winds and wave action can quickly fool you.

I wish the stick movements had been smoother.
I don't use the Mavic2Zoom that often, and i've a feeling it would benefit from an adjustment of the sensitivity of the controls.  A job on the ToDo list

yeah the M2Z kept up for a while, but I had to let her go and fly back to shore

We didn't have those in France, but couleuvres (grass snakes) were a common sight in the garden.

Id much rather find him,     they have signs up warning about the adders,   but I was still surprised to see these two.   Seemed a bit early.

Fair enough. We've seen one or two, but the grass snakes were very common.
They even had a nest under one of our sheds.

I dont tend to see them here,  I wonder if the adders are eatng the grass snakes.

We saw a grass snake trying to swallow a mole, one time. I've got video somewhere.
It must have failed, as the following day we saw the mole still lying in the grass.

Ive never seen a mole in real life. I guess they are smaller than I imagine.
