Cancel Record ruined important footage for me.

Had 20 minutes of footage to the top of a hike(New River Gorge in West Virginia) and I went to power off my Pocket 3 with the record button not thinking much of it. I looked down and had about a second to go on the "Cancel Record" function, but I didn't realize in time. Call it user error, but I think it's a poor choice to have the cancel record and power off be the same botton with a very similar trigger. I've been trying to get recovery software to get the footage back. I'm either going to have to pay for a program that can handle a 16gb file and then hope it works.

I hope that DJI will give us the option to turn off cancel record and have a "Trash Folder" to recover these accidents. To me having to go through some extra footage is far less of an inconveinence than losing footage. This was a hike I was looking forward to for years and most likely will never do again. I can live without the footage but it's still very annoying this happened.

+1.   I have done exactly the same thing recently,   I thought Id stopped the recording and then went to power off only to catch the delete message and boom it as too late.

I knew that easier way to delete files will destroy important footage. Nobody asked for it.

Do things what people want.

+1 also.  Very easy to lose footage this way.  Would really be nice to get rid of that "feature".

I don't understand why it's on there. Storage is relatively cheap. So I have to take an extra few seconds to go through footage, that's much easier than dealing with or trying to recover lost footage. If anything it made me have to sort through more clips because after this happened I made sure to do shorter videos in the event I accidentally deleted one.

Yes, I would like it gone or at least the ability to disable it. At least give us a trash folder to be able to recover the video.

I d onot think people would want to have additional lost storage wasted wit ha trash folder, as we already have with LRF files. that    this site can not simply Hide. . Either Remove likesaid or offer a manual way of turning on and off.

yeah, I agree just being able to disable it or getting rid of it completely would be best.

Best option is to just remove this unwanted "feature".

I don't ever remember anybody requesting this "feature".  IMHO I think development time could have been spent more wisely.

It's a firmware solution. they added it, so they can remove. shouldn't be too hard for them.

seems quite difficult  for DJI to remove it as they do not listen to the Customers

It is a horrible feature. I hope you have made a thread about it like I did. The more threads posted about the issue the better.

Ive been fine with it to be honest - clearly I'm in the minority.
I like the way you have to keep the button pressed for longer to cancel the recording - my Insta360 cameras do the same thing, so I'm kinda used to it now.

I like this feature and I use it often. But I really feel sorry for people who lost their footage because of it. I must admit that it never happened to me. I guess DJI took this idea from Insta360 cameras. You just need to be careful and pay attention before you want to turn off your camera. Remember to stop recording first. Another great option is to set P3 to shut down when you turn the display back to vertical position. I post this comment to show that some people like this feature. Yes, if it can be switched off in settings, then it will make happy everyone.

Best solution to keep everyone happy is just to have an option to turn it off if you do not want it.
