Just finished one room and now I think I will start repainting the master bedroom next.   But tomorrow I will be machining up some large reclaimed mahogany boards to make three 24" x 18" picture frames.

I replaced the doors and door frames in the entire house some years ago,   its not a big deal as the frame can be bought as a kit,  and then hanging doors and architrave is easy enough,   if you have the time. Which is always the problem.

We are replacing our outside doors..... (not sure if that translates well)
One also gets a new frame. (and the window besides it gets replace too).
The previous owners went for the cheapest solution that is really ugly and does not fit the style of the house at all.

That’s certainly a good hypothesis.

We’ve just had rain so heavy no ones gutters could keep up.   I’m expecting a boat to go past any second.

Good to know.
Yeah, the front door gets replaced too.
Unfortunately that is delayed by many months.

The one I'm talking about is the back door (that gets used much more than the front door btw) and it was installed when they extended the house (effectively almost doubling its size, which is great), but they never paid attention to style etc. so we are in the process of replacing all of the 'new' woodwork / frames etc. with something that is appropriate for the period in which the original house was built.
(milled edges, windows in the frames instead of just glass etc. etc. )
Costs quite a bit more, but really adds to the feel of the house.

I used to work in a team of Germans and got on well with them.  (They even discussed ww2 with me) .  I always thought it was due to our shared appreciation of data and evidence.

Must be my genes.
Seriously, I been working with data ever since I can remember.
Timetables with average waiting times for my virtual railways (on paper, long before we had a PC)
Holiday statistics were one of my favorites.

I made drawings of databases before I knew what they were.
So, yeah, it is really something that is a part of me.
Scare, creepy, but also quite enjoyable for me.
And handy from time to time.

Hahahahahaha.
There are some cultural differences of course, but other than that, we are all humans and not really divided by borders.

Lol.  I can relate to that.  I grew up learning to program from about 10 and understanding production line timing.   Odd childhood really.

I do not like the idea of the drop, throw or palm, to me, that's asking for something to go wrong.

I mostly hand catch/launch this mini 2, but I always use the grip method to land and take off, and in the way of the sensors.
The reason being, it means I can line up and as I do so, it ascends a little, then left stick down brings it down slow enough to be
able to safely grip it and keeping the stick down will stop the motors.

Take-off is also using the grip method, but i will nudge it upwards to initiate the take-off whilst still gripping and when I feel that
its good to go, just let go, this way there's no room for error as long as your grip is tight because the AC is fighting to ascend, plus
as the motors are fighting to go, means that the only way is up and its quickly away from your person.

The palm method leaves it open to tilting, throwing it leaves it susceptible to gusts, perhaps the throw wasn't as hard etc, i dont
the video didnt scream safe to me, where as grip & nudge, leaves it trying its hardest to move away from you before youve even
let go. Just me i supposed...

Me too,  Nudge launch and a grip and flip to stop the motors on return.
