Even € 114,- per year adds up...
I'm against this model, so I'll try and keep away from that.
As long as it does not pay any bills, I'm not going to go that route.

Probably not the culture there,   but here there are many people that buy 4-6 cups of coffee every day they go into the office so cutting 2 a month to pay for something like that is nothing to them.

I know.
A group from our church just returned from a trip to Budapest where they helped a local foundation with their work for homeless people.
I did the editing of the video for their trip, which was used in the fundraiser ending meeting.
I'm starting to believe we would all benefit from doing at least 2 weeks per year of voluntary work in such a place.
It's completely unfair how wealth is accumulated on this earth. And I'm one of the lucky persons that was born in a wealthy country.
I know a lot of people think the 'earned' their wealth, but it's a gift. Even if you worked hard for it.

Ive worked for a few companies that gifted their staff to charity for up to two weeks a year. But they never sent anyone abroad that I know of,  but they did do some good in our own country,   and some naff things like painting canal locks.

Yeah, that sounds good.
I think that by changing our comfortable life to something harsh as the outskirts of Budapest for a couple of weeks per year will make us be more grateful for what we have and take for granted here.
But this might be a topic that is better suited for a nice coffeeshop with some expensive double whipped cream latte

Im cheaper than that,   just plain black for me,    no sugar unless is subpar coffee.

Inside is still a big construction site.

Officially they have to remove the kitchen and bathroom from the small house, but I doubt if they will.
It's going to be a guesthouse for friends and family (that is my last info at least)

I have a machine that you put beans into and it grinds them,  presses them and makes the coffee and then cleans itself when done,    it sounds great but it's also very needy.

I buy the beans in bulk when they come up on special,   about £10-12 for 2kg of lavazza which is my usual brand.  The machine itself was over £1000 but they are a lot cheaper these days.

Mine rarely does that luckily as like you it really annoys me,  what she does do is not mention it until we get there so I dont have the right tools with me for the job but she still expects it done.

Last time I checked (the machine records lots of metrics) it had made 16440 cups of coffee and been descaled 62 times. . That was December 2022.

So your looking at less than 16p per cup for the machine + coffee + maintenance

I will check someday. We're now drinking these pads. They are not very cheap (I always get them when they are on sales btw) about € 0,08 per pad.
The machine costs about € 100,- and the last one lasted 10 years.
