Hey bud,

   To fix this both gimbal and IMU need to be calibrated. This needs to be done on flat surface , away from metal object. If you can’t find flat surface outside, it might be better to do it at home on the floor. Sorry don’t remember exactly where in DJI Fly the calibration is, but you can just google it, there are lots of YouTube videos on this subject. Hope this helps.  Take care, Mike.

This needs to be done on flat surface , away from metal object.
No need to avoid metal when calibrating the IMU or gimbal.
You are confusing it with calibrating the compass.
And it wouldn't be metal you would need to worry about, it's iron or steel objects.

Good point Labroides. Thank you for clarification. Yes compass is sensitive to iron and steel.
