It takes a bit of practicing in nearest city park to get the feel of altitude and distances, to understand various OAS messages and to master proper usage of Narrow Sensing feature in Tripod mode. Calm day is the best since weak and chaotic GPS lock (typical under forest canopy) may - and will - cause unexpected switch into Atti mode. When this happens your bird is at the mercy of even the gentliest breeze ... I'm avoiding long and winding passages as too risky to perform. Most of raw footage contains 2 or 3 slightly correcting turns on average 25m long flight. I would rarely glimpse at screen, ignoring loudly protesting controller. Most of the piloting is done by VLOS. Good planning is the key for success ... Not for chickens, though ... |
