Hi all,

I found a submerged Mavic Pro, last 31August17 as I was diving in Sesimbra - Portugal.


As it was in such bad condition(probably submerged for couple weeks or so) I attached no importance and took it home.


Only recently I got aware of the value of these gadgets, as I was asked to dive again to recover another lost drone...   and learned about the "DJI Care" service.


I am now trying to locate it's owner to be able to return it, but DJI will not disclose any contacts.


So, if you have lost your Mavic Pro (or know of someone who did) in the area, please contact me.
If your serial number matches the one I'm holding, I will give you your drone back.


BTW I couldn't retrieve any data from the SD card...

So shines a good deed in a weary world.

Was it submerged in Fresh or Salt Water ? If it was submerged in salt water you might as well shine her up and use it as a unique paperweight

Yes it was salt water and yes I know it can't be recovered.
Still, I guess the owner will like to learn about the outcome of it...

The owner may still hold the Care Refresh papers on it, so actually could be £800-900 better off if he gets the drone back and claims the refresh and then sells the drone.

Would be a nice service by DJI not to disclose any user data to the finder, which is alright, but to inform the original owner.  It must have been registered with a corresponding mail address.

Just found in a similar post that DJI is willing to try to contact the original owner if the serial of the recovered Mavic is sent to them.

I too found a drone (racing, non-DJI), posted a lost and found on the Nextdoor app. with pictures and the owner called me the next day with the FAA ID # and he got his drone back. This was after joining several racing clubs forums in my area and posting with no response. NextDoor works!

Will try to contact ANAC and see if it leads anywhere…  just before I throw it in the garbage container and forget about it ;-)

I have contacted DJI.  Sent serial number and all but they said they wouldn't disclose any personal info...
I was kind of hoping that they would find the owner and give him my contacts, but so far, only silence.

Dam. meanwhile the owner is still probably crying in the corner. This gave me an idea to create a user created database. Like FAA has their own, DJI has their own then why can't we create our own?  once the user registers, the last 4 digit serial number gives you option to contact them via email(system created email to hide actual email) This way we can contact any user who has registered their drones instantly.

Bummer, well you tried more than most would have.....

I lost a mavic pro just last week in lake guntersville,Alabama .I only had it 2 weeks .I giot it iff ebay but b4 you dive I could tell you what the color of the  batterie and the drone was gray .I will give you $100 .I just had got it after saving  my ssd for 6 months              

If your not in Alabama and you can't find the owner of the mavic woiuld you sale that one to me ?? I lost my new used one in lake Guntersville,AL

You probably could not salvage any of it when submerged in Salt water.
