Good day my friends. Just got the Mavic Air and it is an awesome product. The battery failed on me after some firmware update. Coundn't fly saying the battery is not connected properly. On closer look the battery has 2 lights in the center lighted up and the end 2 lights are not lighted up. Having put it back to charger hoping that it will reset but it doesn't work. What can I do to get it working again? Anyone else has this experience? How can I avoid this?

Thank you in advance for your response.

Hi there, please try to charge the battery for at least half an hour, mount it in the drone, connect to the DJI Assistant 2 to upgrade the firmware again. See if it works.

Disappointed to report that the update can only work with a battery that is fully charge. Managed to update the firmware with a good battery.  However, when i use the problem battery to update, the attached is what was on the screen.  As there are only two led lighted and also no signal from the battery, the software recognised that it wasnt full thus does not allow me to proceed with the upgrade.

Did you check that the battery actually transfers power to your phone?

Your battery is in hibernation mode. You need time to get back.

Replace it, better.

After the battery has been totally discharged ( all led lights went off) i put it onto the charger to charge it again.  At first sight it looked promising as the the led lights on the battery lighted up like when we charged a normal battery.  However, agter charging for about 30 mins, it went back to the error state of only 2 led lights in the center.

Ok - I think the battery is done. Wait and see if DJI Thor does not return with some advice.

You may try the following steps to fix bricked battery:

1: Use a healthy battery and connect Mavic Air to DJI Assistant 2, downgrade the firmware
2: Fully recharge the bricked battery, remote controller and your mobile device that you use DJI GO 4
3: Remove DJI GO 4 app from your mobile device and it's cache, then install DJI GO 4 again
4: Use the bricked battery and follow the newly installed DJI GO 4 steps to update the firmware
5: During the update process, if the update stopped at certain percentage (30% for my case), unplug the usb from between remote controller and your mobile device, and it should be moving again, then re-connect the usb when prompted
6: After finishing all the firmware updates, you should be able to unbrick your battery

To fix the "middle 2 LEDs staying on problem" with Mavic Air batteries:
1) If you have a fully charged FUNCTIONING Mavic Air battery, skip this step. If not, fully charge a functional Mavic Air battery.
2) Download DJI Assistant 2 V1.2.2.845, and install on your computer.
3) Charge your malfunctioning battery(ies) for at least an hour. Ignore what the LEDs do during this hour.
4) While your malfunctioning battery(ies) is charging (or if it has just charged for at least 1 hour), install a fully-charged FUNCTIONAL battery into your Mavic Air.
5) Start DJI Assistant 2.
6) Connect your Mavic Air to your computer.
7) Turn on your Mavic Air.
8) Select your Mavic Air in DJI Assistant 2
9) Update your firmware to V01.00.0300.
10) Update the rest of your fully-charged functioning Mavic Air batteries.
11) After your malfunctioning battery has charged for at least 1 hour AND after you've updated your Mavic Air aircraft to firmware V.01.00.0300, install your MALFUNCTIONING battery into your Mavic Air.
12) Turn on your Mavic Air.
13) Update to V.01.00.0300. Your first attempt will likely result in a failure notice citing the reason as your battery not being fully charged. Leave that screen up for at least 1 minute. If the update doesn't resume installing on its own, click Retry. Then your malfunctioning battery will resume and complete the firmware update.
13) Your malfunctioning battery should now be fixed!

Hope this helps!

I have exactly the same problem, followed all your instructions, but didn't work.  Still no fix.  Problem only happened with 1 of 3 batteries I have.

Sorry if this is a silly question. Are the batteries purchased directly from the store?
I may also undertand that one or more (fly more compbo) batteries came with the product and those are prone to fail, just a quality issue

It is the fly more combo with 3 batteries, and 1 of them is having this unresolved battery error.

Not really. But things made by humans would fail given some unwanted circumstances such temperature or shock hazard. I am lucky enough having the fly morw combo with three batteries plus five more and all of them are fine.

Thank you very much, this worked perfectly.
I had the exact same problem with the two solid LEDs.
