A while ago I bought a Phantom on eBay. It was listed as an Advanced, but I am not sure it is. Can someone plz identify it for me? The red stickers seem to indicate a Standard, but the model no. sticker seems to indicate an Advanced. I have an Advanced remote and a Standard remote and I can get neither to work. I need to know which one to further experiment with.
Thanks for your time!

Thanks for your very speedy answer.
You are 100% sure? So I can get rid of the Standard remote I have? And am I correct in assuming Model No GL300C is the remote to use for the Advanced?

Did the seller send the Phantom 3 Standard remote controller with this drone?

Well...that's a long story, kinda. There were two auctions, but I couldn't get it to work and, seeing the red stickers, I thought they'd sent me a Standard. So I found a standard remote, but that didn't work either.
I have not been able to get either of them to work. I now have an Phantom 3 Advanced drone with an advanced and standard remote. But the advanced remote didn't originally come with the drone.

Downward facing camera? I can only see the big one and that points forward once it's switched on. Forgive me if this is a stupid remark. I am a newbie ;-)

The part on the bottom labeled "P77DCD1" is the VPS.

It looks like someone changed the sticker color (not uncommon) and removed the model name badge from the front of the drone (an odd thing to do).

You can use any of the remote controllers in the "P3A" column on the list below with the Phantom 3 Advanced. The GL300A, GL300B, and GL300C are the remote controllers that normally come with the Phantom 3 Advanced.

Download the manual for the advanced, do a wordsearch for "LINK"
That will tell you how to pair the controller with the Phantom.
It only takes a minute

I don't see a serial number on it anywhere, but previous replies have already helped me to determine that it is a Phantom 3 Advanced, thanks.

I have trouble connecting between the remote and my device (an iPad). Step 3 is connecting the remote and the device with a USB cable. But I don't have an Apple Lighting to Micro (?) USB cable. Are there other ways of connecting?

I am looking for a cable in online shops but a) the lightning ones are all really expensive and b) I can only find one called "DJI Mavic RC Cable (Lightning Connector)". Will that one also work?

You are looking for any Lightning to USB cable.
Ebay or Amazon should have hundreds to choose from.

I figured I would need a lightning-to-Micro-USB cable, as the regular lightning-to-USB cable yields no result whatsoever (I have enclosed pictures of the "proof" of the regular USB cable, with the screen showing it does not connect).

And in case you want to know, yes, I think I have the latest version of the App (3.1.42).

Everyone else's tablet connects to a regular USB socket.
Are you certain that Lightning cable works for data transfer?
Check it somewhere else to confirm the cable is OK.

I transferred pictures from my iPhone to my laptop using that cable yesterday. But will use another cable and try again.

Tried it with another cable. In step 2 I need to switch on the drone...but maybe because I have never been able to set up a link between the drone and the remote, it never really 'notices' that the iPad is connected?

I have in the mean time tried several different lightning cables. I have also:

- Rebooted the iPad
- Removed the DJI Go app and reinstalled it
- Tried the DJI Go 4 app (wasn't fit for Phantom 3, so removed it)
- Tried launching the app after connecting the device
- Tried launching the app before connecting the device

Afaik I have the latest version of iOS (11.11.4.1) and the app (3.1.42).

No show. It is very frustrating.

I don't share your optimism. So far, to use your metaphor, I am not moving at all. Not even crawling.

I am kinda hoping that you can help me ahead a bit. I can't PM you because Firefox won't let me type anything and I'll be damned if I use IE.
