I commonly work in areas with very poor resolution satellite imagery. This makes it impossible to plan missions in these areas without a PC or via pen and paper. It would be very very helpful to be able to load custom imagery as a basemap (I do make it all day long afterall). This could be done a couple ways:

• Allow for the loading of Geotiff basemaps via the SD card
• Allow for the connection to a custom map server. Maps made easy allows for the connection to a Mapbox link, and this seems to work pretty well (https://support.dronesmadeeasy.com/hc/en-us/articles/115000168966-Bring-Your-Own-Basemap-into-Map-Pilot-BYOB)

Yes, custom basemaps and choice of online basemaps would be a good feature.

Yes of course. It's very practical and useful for low resolution area.

Hopefully with the addition of the Terrain DSM input feature, the ability to import Geotiff images is not that far away.

We are in the same boat, and do most of our planning in the office.  Having imagery would add flexibility to the system for sure.

From what I have seen, I’m not sure that it’s possible to use KML’s and terrain data at the same time... That would majorly hinder it’s utility. However the custom base maps would be a nice workaround.

Why we still have no custom map option?

Yes, we've been asking for this since the P4R was released.

The function was implemented in Pilot2.
