I didn't go too far out but it seems identical to the standard controller.  I was getting regular cut-outs at times where the feed just stops for a moment.  Imo, for the range benefits it's not worth it.

What range did you get?

I didn't go far out to tell, only far enough when it starts to break such as around buildings.

Around 300m.  I think it's worse than the standard.

Of course, the area is very dense in New Jersey.
