Volos (Greek: Βόλος) (Population: 144,449) is the 5th biggest city (and 3rd largest port) in Greece, situated in Thessaly, almost in the middle of the distance between Athens (326 km) and Thessaloniki (219 km). The nearby Sporades Islands (Greek: Βόρειες Σποράδες) are fertile and heavily wooded, with pine-forested mountains sloping down to some of the best beaches in the Aegean, and the local architecture is more characteristic of Northern Greece, with less whitewashing and more stone roofs. Skiathos is the best known and easiest to get to – accordingly it is the most crowded, with throngs of visitors arriving all summer, while Alonnisos is much quieter.
I shot this video of a recent sailing trip almost entirely on an Osmo Pocket in 4K.
