Just spoke with the Electronics Department Manager at a large local retailer and he said that of the 15 original MMs they sold all but 2 have been returned. He said he can't get enough Parrot Anafis right now to meet the demand. Looks like DJI definitely hurt themselves by rushing the MM out to market for Christmas sales. I bet Parrot is not complaining though.
Although the multitude of online reviews on the Anafi are not overwhelmingly positive so some if not many of them will get returned I'd bet. Oh well, nothing like having users be your best beta testers. Most smartphone manufacturers learned early to use a select group of power users to beta test their products. Yeah, they still have a few bugs in the software but you will never get a 100% bug free smartphone on initial release.
I'm sure there will be some, no many naysayers but the MM and Fly app, as a whole, only had 1 or 2 minor bugs. A lot of the desired capabilities from more advanced DJI drones were probably left off intentionally as this drone was intended to be marketed toward beginner/1st time drone fliers. However, I think they overlooked the fact that due to it's mobility many people bought it as a 2nd drone to travel with and were expecting more capabilities. Just my opinion and I also respect your opinion if you disagree. Just throwing this out there. |
