This shows the beach at Wells-next-the-Sea. It's just turned high tide, and at low tide there is no water between the beach by the trees (and famous beach huts) and the edge of the sea. However, the tide turns very quickly, unsuspecting visitors get stranded on the stretch of sand closest to the sea and need rescuing by the lifeboats.
Biulding on the left with slipway, will be the new lifeboat station, the mass of white is the static caravan holiday park. In between is teh outer harbour where the larger vessels operate from to service the wind farms, gas rigs etc.

If you are looking for a holiday location in the UK, this has lots going for it without being too touristy.

(I think this pano is a little bland, but on the Norfolk Photo FB page, it has generated 29 comments and 260 "likes" so the locals and those that know the area like it)

Worth a trip, sometimes reasonable deals on the static caravans, nice fish and chips, decent pubs and restaurants etc as well as the beach and views...

You'd thinks so, but it changes really quickly, and gets deep...regularly the North Norfolk News reports things like:

"Two people have been rescued after getting stranded on the west side of Wells beach, the second time a rescue has happened in two days.
At 4.57pm on Tuesday September 7, Wells inshore lifeboat was called to the pair who were stuck on a disappearing piece of sand as the tide rushed in."

"A crew from RNLI Wells was called out to assist two people at risk of being cut off by the high tide at Burnham Overy Staithe.
The Wells inshore lifeboat was paged to the marshes north of Burnham Overy Staithe Harbour on the afternoon of December 29"

I think visitors are caught completely unaware...
