Hello, good afternoon, I want to ask about the dji mini 2 drone, it often loses signal, even though it has only flown a few meters, the signal has lost. please help support. Thank you

Hello there pdwchannel. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused and thank you for reaching out. May we please know what is the model of the mobile device that you are using please and can you please fly your DJI Mini 2 to a different location to see if the issue will still persist? The DJI drone might have picked up magnetic interference on the ground, and you took off from close to a buildings with rebar concrete metal objects on it. That might be the reason why you are experiencing these issues. In addition please make sure that the antennas are pointed toward the aircraft for optimal transmission. Thank you.

I do experience signal losses, but not at a few meters. It can happen (with my drone at least) from about 150m or so.
I did notice it is very sensitive to how you point the controller.

still in doubt if a buy one....short range and lots of signal losses does not help me at all...

No, that is one of the less favorite parts indeed.
Some claim they have perfect connection, but I for sure get dropouts quite often.
It will still fly and the connection is regained well within the 2s timeout (before RTH kicks in).
Usually the controls do work, it is just the video that stops.

And the odd thing is that I can easily reach 500m in most cases, but it does have dropouts in the video.
And they happen at unlogical moments (like when the signal is still quite good and after you do get your video feed back, it is still at 3 lines or something).

hmm, my mini2 does easily 2k distance   video feed never interrupted

Oh that is weird then.
My Mini 2 gets video hiccups quite frequently.

Maybe there was a mixup with M2 and Mi3, where JJB thought it was about Mi3.

The icons seem to be added when you comment in the forum for that drone... not when you fly it.

I think you will find that the icons show which Dji products you have. You are correct in thinking that the icon on my posts showing the OM5 does not fly.

That's what I thought Monty, but I bought a 2nd hand M2P and it shows up for me, yet only 1 of my 2 Mini 2s shows on my icons.
Mind you, my M2P was replaced by Dji under warranty. (Fell out the sky with vision sensor fault). So maybe that is why it appears.

Maybe that 'replacement' part was what triggered it.
I did get my MP 2nd hand, but I also bought one new first (and returned it because I felt it was too expensive)

I don't know.

I get dropouts, usually when the drone is in visual range and in sport mode, going fast. I have attributed it to local 2.4GHz wifi, but I have no proof of it. I know for the most part, the drone works at 5.8GHz, and will work out to 3km, but to get that extra distance, need to force 2.4GHz.

I live in a super rural area, with only my own wifi modem disturbing things. I'm thankful the dropouts don't occur on mid range flight. They are of course common, when I'm trying to stretch it, or drop the drone 750m away.

I don't have this issue at all, unless I let trees or something else get between me and the drone, and even then, it only happens at greater distances than you suggest.

Is this an FCC environment. or a CE environment? That makes a huge difference.

I live in an FCC environment, with virtually nothing around to cause interference. With an Arc V strobe attached, I can easily see the drone out to 2000-3000 ft, frequently farther depending on the direction. Maintaining VLOS becomes an issue much sooner than signal loss does. I have three Mini-2s, and they all behave like this.

The DJI FPV is different; full out in Sport mode, it loses the signal pretty easily.

YMMV.

i had the same issue few days ago just after updating fly app to 1.7
distance was maybe 20-30 meters away
I've just landed back and change the battery and it never as far repeat again

ill try to find and post the logs

Is anybody seeing Chinese text in the app? I am.

My Mini-1 and Mini-SE get video hiccups pretty regularly, but my Mini-2s don't. At least, only rarely, and only when I'm a fair way out, well over 1000 ft.

In CE area I get this a lot.
