I am using QGIS to plan my missions. I do export the area as an KML or KMZ file.  This files are not possible to import into DJI Pilot 2 ?  The files work fine when I import then in other programs i.e. Google earth, but fails in DJI Pilot.

Does anyone know about a quickfix or workaround ?

Best regards

KMZ.JPG Opens the SHP file in Google Earth. Expand the submenu to save only the shape. Records in KMZ. Exports to the radio control.

DJI flight planning/ground control apps are quite finicky regarding kml/kmz format import.

As LV-Forestry mentioned, one workaround is to export the kml/kmz directly from Google Earth rather than from a 3rd party GIS program such as QGIS or ArcGIS. There are also online shp to kml converters that will yield a file DJI will accept.

Another option is to edit the kml in a text editor and remove all but the most basic entries. You can use a kml you know DJI accepts as a template.

Good luck!

Thanks.  I will check out the online converters and check if they are imported ok.

I have been struggling with the upload of a .KMZ file to the RC Plus controller.   At first, I was getting the 'invalid File" error.  Now, I am getting "Cannot Open File".   I have tried exporting the .KMZ as a .KML, but that does not help.   The KMZ is just 39 electrical transmission poles.  Previously, we would use MBtiles to get objects like this into the map, but we are hoping to use.KMZ/.KML if the software allows it.   What am I doing wrong?

My workflow:
1. Export from QGIS
2. Pack all in zip
3. Import to Dji app
4. Adjust all possible flight params
5. Export kmz
6. Copy-paste to the controller
7. Import from the controller as flight route , not from cloud
8. Adjust all additionally available params, especially Target to Surface

Time consuming but works perfectly fine.
