I'm excited as I've mapped out what I want to see. Now I have to decided how much time I need in each location. My plan is to fly over commercially and then rent a car. I have a valid International Driver's Permit so I hope it is recognized in France.
Here's what I found:
If you are a temporary visitor to France (less than 90 days,) you may drive with a valid U.S. driver's license during this period only. In addition to having your U.S. driver's license, you must carry an International Driving Permit or attach a French translation to your U.S. driver's license.
Sounds like you're OK.
And they drive on the right, just like you
BUT! Be aware of the Priorité à Droite. Don't know what the law is in the States, but in some (random) areas of France, traffic emerging from a side street has priority over traffic coming from its left.
It's a crazy situation, and some of them just zoom out without even a glance, so be aware. |
