I just finished this mod and I tested it only around my house which is a pretty wooded area and I have some power lines as well. I was at 150 altitudes and I flew about 950 m before it start to lose signal. I turned my head toward the direction of the drone and I flew 200 m more until I completely lost video. RC signal was still pretty good. I am still doing some tests tomorrow at a different location which is more elevated than where I am now and not so crowded.I have the same antennas on the V2 and I have the same results at the same spot. Did anyone have these antennas on your V2 goggles what are your results?
I will report back with more range news after I do these tests but until then let me know what you think.

there are true rc air x2 coming out that are a plug and play, definitely get those.   They do wonders for the googles v2

Do you mean these? I really don't like the shape of these. Hopefully, they will come with a better design.

Because of the limitation of the AVATA battery will not be able to push these to the limit. I will like to see more penetration in the wooden areas and I hope they will work better.

Just X mk2 smaller not sure how much better I have googles v2 and by far the best

Stock antennas are better.
They are really good, and you gonna lose the portability advantage.
The only thing I envy about my Goggles V2.

The Micro AXII HD is made by the same true rc as well and they have really good results with Goggles V2. the only difference is these new ones are directional and the Micro AXII HD are omnidirectional. I see from the video they are good at penetration in the wooden areas. I will buy a set and test them by my self.

The shape of the antenna array is a necessary thing to allow for functionality based on its design.

In fact, one of the most difficult patents to get approved is for an antenna as there is so much Radio Frequency theory that has to be done to prove it (Whatever your patented idea is)

I used to look like such a dork with my Fat Shark Analog antennas - one big square on and one round, but that is what we needed for good RF performance who am I to argue.

I love the new goggles small antennas and so far I have not gone any distance away with my Avata, waiting for my FPV Controller as I am old school = need 2 sticks.

Those actually look kind of neat, have you seriously seen an increase in range and performance and if so how much are they?

Might be a trade off of better performance but not as Omni-Directional as stock. If that's the case going deep in the woods where you are basically "Looking at the drone" these might be better performing. If these screw off easily there may be use cases for both. Like someone posted I would be happy to see some good test results as most of my fat shark stuff was "Very Directional" and you wanted to be looking in the direction of the track for best results. so far flying Avata around my house the Goggles 2 perform well I have had no break up loss of clarity or nothing. They have been rock solid.

Dude - Nice Video - and great attention to detail to validate results! I love the PC with a 3.5" floppy drive and the analog dial phone.

Bringing back some old memories.........great stuff!!

I love old tech stuff. Some of it was just awesome. If you could not call 911 with the phone because the lines were down, you can beat the intruder with it, and I guarantee it still works after, maybe only a scratch.

Great video on the antennas and it shows a decent increase in penetration & the use of the signal strength meter was awesome to show. Great job!

hm.. strange - it's 4 vs 3 mbits, stock got even higher bitrate
honestly it looks more like one got focus mode nicely ON, other don't or some difficulty with it ;)

Sorry to bump an old thread. Is there any alternative angle of this set of goggles? I want to do the exact same thing with the x2 air antennas I have.
