Hi, zagy. Thank you for reaching out. Due to hardware design limitations, the Mavic Mini does not support ActiveTrack. If you need a mini drone with this feature, please check Mini 3 Pro (https://store.dji.com/product/dj ... on=3&vid=113961). Thank you for your kind understanding and support.

Thank you for the answer. I gave up on buying a drone of this brand because the application does not work on new mobile phones, so I switched to other types of drones
. This model is so bad that it doesn't even have normal tracking and I wasn't impressed.

Hi zagy, don‘t give up. Mavic Mini is still a great drone. With third party apps like Dronelink or Litchi you even get Follow Me Mode.

it's not good because it doesn't work on new generations of mobile phones and that doesn't bring anything good except spending money...in my opinion it's no longer worth having such an expensive drone that doesn't work properly...they should have mentioned that these drones are not for new types of mobile phones so that people don't buy one or the other...everyone keeps quiet and sells and people end up being damaged...people are fooled and made fools of them...there is no more help than this drone model..IT IS NOT WORTH SPENDING ON THIS MONEY..

Hi, zagy. No worries, Please note that not all drones have the same features and functionality. As mentioned above, if you need a mini drone with the ActiveTrack feature, please check Mini 3 Pro. Also, new mobile phone models from known brands can support the DJI Fly app, please check the supported devices here: (https://www.dji.com/downloads/djiapp/dji-fly).

No need for a post entirely in capital letters.

Besides, when my phone wouldn't work with fly app I bought a second hand phone, a Samsung S6, for a fraction of the price I paid for my real phone, a Samsung S5. Guess what, the S6 runs Go, Go4 and Fly perfectly. There's no need to by a brand spanking new phone to run the app.
My most flown drone? By the number of flights, a Mavic mini, currently coming up on 900 flights and that's missing a few flights.
My other drones, Mini Mavic 2 pro & zoom, Phantom 3 pro and advanced.

Might it be the buyer/pilot at fault and not the drone?????
Mine continues to give satisfaction.

Hi. I’ve read some of your answers regarding turning a maverick mini into active follow mode. I’m VERY new to this and would like some help please. I’m going on a bike trip and I want to try and get the maverick mini to follow me. I’ve looked at the apps you suggested but I don’t really want all the mapping etc just the follow me mode. Could you suggest any apps that do that or do I have to just get the app that has all these features? Thank you in advance Lee

Litchi perhaps but be warned, the mavic mini has no obstacle avoidance sensors or capability, so you fly a tracking shot entirely at your own risk with no comeback against DJI or anyone else, if it crashes it is your fault.

Brilliant thank you very much. I will only be using it on mountain trails with no trees etc…

But the ground tends to rise and if the drone is moving quickly over a rising slope the landing protection will not act quickly enough to avoid a crash.

Thank you. I hadn’t even thought of that. And it will be definitely as I’m on a bike trip to Andorra, so quite a few ups and downs

Yeah they are complicated little beasties, lol.
Also, the drone might not descend if you are going down hill but that is speculation, I have never tried any sort of tracking even with Litchi

If the new neo can track, why not make the firmware for the mini 1. Basically the same

Why would they add such a feature to the Mavic Mini NOW ?
If you are that keen on risking your drone then try Litchi, as far as I remember it offers tracking.
Just remember that there is no OA in the Mavic mini and attempts are entirely at your own risk.

This is not a good thing.  I have an older tablet and a newer phone both with DJI GO 4.  Both devices stopped working and the app in the Google Play Store was not the newest version.  Instead I had to find the app on DJI's web site and side load it.  Both devices fought me on the install.  Not so great.

The side loading thing is very easy on my Android phone's all that is required is to acknowledge/permit the installation of an app that is not from google play and to ENSURE that the "ONE TIME ONE " box is checked.
Maybe your phone has additional security that must be dealt with.
Besides since this is a mavic mini thread, the Go4 app is irrelevant, the required app is the fly app and an older tablet is likely unlikely to be able to run the FLY App which requires a 64bit processor.
