Hi all,
I'm having some diffiiculties binding my DJI FPV V2 Goggles with my new (used) DJI FPV drone.

I own a pair of DJI Goggles which I assume are V2 because they use external power, no internal battery.     I use a 4 cell pack to power them, previous owner was using 6 cell (!!).

They came bound with a iFlight ProTek25 HD Caddx Vista and work well with that.

I recently bought a used DJI FPV kit which is missing goggles, so assumed i could bind my goggles.  I tried holding the bind button to get the Goggles to beep, and then holding power on the drone itself to put it in bind mode, but the goggles just beep indefinitely until I unplug them.

Questions ;

1. Do I even have the V2 goggles, if they need plug in power, they are V2, right?  I read that the V2 Goggles are the only ones that work with DJI FPV.

2. Do I just need to update some firmware to get them rolling with the DJI FPV?
3. If I DO manage to update the firmware, will i no longer be able to bind to the Caddx Vista of the Protek25 the goggles came with?

I'm concerned because I read somewhere that updating the firmware of the goggles can prevent you downgrading in some cases, potentially locking me out of both drones.

THANKS :-)

Both the Goggles 2 and the V2 have external power. The V2 have 4 antennas that screw in and don't fold. The 2 has two external antennas that fold. You need to switch to DJI FPV mode. You can't fly in the same mode as with the Vista. It's buried somewhere deep in the V2 menu under device. After switching to it you need to power down and up again. If you have the Goggles 2 you swipe right and under the top menu item you can switch to DJI fpv drone... Hope this helps.

I don't know how to find out if it's V1 or V2 but with the V1 I think you're out of luck the the DJI fpv drone.

Hey, thanks for trying to help!  I just had a good look and that menu option isn't available, i followed a youtube guide and the options he was seeing are simply not there on mine.  I can get to the version numbers and the FW is 01.00.0606.   The fine print on the goggles doesn't say V2 anywhere and mentions the max voltage is 17.6V which lines up with the V1 voltage, so im guessing it is the V1 now.  This is disappointing because i have the FPV drone, hard case, three batteries and also ordered the FPV controller 2, and i cant use any of it lol.  Would be nice to be able to buy the goggles but they seem to cost $900AUD+ (!!).  Feeling kinda stupid right now, only option seems to use my phone to fly it i guess

Maybe you find some used ones. Good luck!

In the end I actually bought a used DJI AVATA with the V2 Goggles! haven't arrived yet but its a decent solution I think...! Hopefully I can alternate the Goggles without having to change the firmware to do so, but, that can be a dilemma for another thread if I get there!  Hopefully OK now. Thanks!
