I'm more interested in still photographs than video, and want to do offline processing in Adobe Lightroom.   I'm looking at the new Mavic Air 3 for its better cameras.  Can anybody tell me how much bit depth and/or dynamic range is available in DNG format from this drone?  In other words, are there other formats for stills with better dynamic range than 8-bit JPEG?

Is similar information available for any of the other mid-level drones? -- jclarkw

The color depth of 12MP and 48MP JPEG photos is 8-bit
The color depth of 12MP RAW photos is 12-bit
The color depth of 48MP RAW photos 10-bit

I was asking for similar information for the old Air 2.  Can you get that for me please?

(And why isn't this information in the specifications anyhow?  These drones are not just about video.  If serious still photographers knew how good the Air 3 is, wouldn't they buy it?)

Hi there. Sorry for the very late response, jclarkw. For the DJI Mavic Air 2, JPEG color depth sampling is 8-bit, and DNG color depth sampling is 10-bit while the Chroma sampling is 420. Hope this helps. Thank you for your valued support.
