Hi all,

Does any one know whether we can still get frimware updates after 01-01-2024 for mini 3 pro purchased before this date without having this C0 label (120m limit in EU countries) thing attached to it?

Should we update our firmware now? Or should we stay on the current version?

No, the Mini3pro will stay as an uncertified drone without the 120m limit!

In case, DJI provides a C0 label, there will be a choice to do so, or not

For DJI Mini 4 pro, for those who already applied for the removal of the 120m height limit in 2023, there will no longer be a mandatory label requirement after 2024, and you can still fly the drone up to 500m, so there is no need to apply for a C1(C0) label and the C1(C0) application is not supported. That's rubbish!

If DJI were to force a subsequent C0 certification of the Mini 3 on owners who purchased their drone before 31 December 2023! This is not possible and is legally inadmissible!

Why do you think DJI is clearing the way until 31 December 2023 with the Mini 4 Pro to lift an altitude limit of 120m??? That DJI will then implement the altitude limit again?

Sadly not,  DJI will be releasing a firmware for all mini drones to add the 120m limit.

Thats the problem we dont know which firmware they will slip it in as they only say bug fixes these days on the release notes.

Yep,   The 120m limit come back at the end of the year unless you removed the C0 label and followed the process this year.   All Mini drones from next year will get an update for 120m limit.

Hi there. Thank you for your response. The latest firmware of the DJI Mini 3 Pro is v01.00.0700 which was released last 09/26/2023. We are actively coordinating with the relevant department about this and will surely keep you posted once we receive a response. This restriction is only available for the DJI Mini 4 Pro as of the moment. We appreciate your understanding.

I don't think the restriction is in the drone firmware, but in the Fly app on the controller...

Correct me if I am wrong but didn't the opening posts around this "120m hard ceiling" thing refer to it appearing AFTER a FIRMWARE update, not an APP update.
If an affected person also has a Mavic Mini or mini 2 on old firmware it would, I think, be easy enough to check.  
If it is a Mini 3 Pro firmware thing then, with the same app, I think they would find that the earlier drone would display a maximum possible height of 500m despite an affected Mini 3 Pro allowing only 120m.

There is currently only one drone with a C0 classification, namely the Mini 4 Pro!
All other drones under 250g do not currently have a C0 classification and will not receive one. Therefore, there will be no altitude limit of 120 metres for the Mini 3 Pro, which was sold until 31.12.2023.
Only from 1.01.2024 must all drones under 250g sold, have this C0 classification with the 120 metre altitude limit.

Anything else would not be permitted by DJI!

Why is DJI doing this action with the Mini 4 Pro regarding the C0 cancellation???
Definitely not for fun!

Ive seen no source for that updated change in policy,  where did you get that from DJI?

I had a quick look back, and I think that I could be right.

The limitation of the 120 metre came in with the Fly app update 1.10.4 and then adjusted with the 1.10.6..

Bottom line is the limitation for the 120 metre has already being installed in most radios, and it will be triggered in January...

Please clarify this asap... It is extremely confusing atm... Just let us know how to retain our 500m limit on mini 3 pros purchased before 2024 :/....

My understanding and recollection on this, is that on the 1st of January all DJI drones will have a 120metre limitation based on Geographical and local regulations.

I think Paladin made a mistake. The limitation was introduced by the DJI Fly app and not by drone firmware...

If your radio has a DJI Fly app version higher than 1.10.6, you are already setup with the limitation coming into effect on the 1st of January...

I hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it....

Hi there. Thank you for reaching out. If you purchase your DJI Mini 3 before January 1, 2024, you will have two options:

Option 1: Apply for a C0 label and C0 firmware from January 2024 via a special DJI portal by providing photo proof of the drone’s serial number. They will then be restricted to an altitude of 120 meters from the take-off point.

Option 2: Continue to use the drone without any modifications and without the C0 label and C0 firmware.

If anyone here still doesn't understand that, they're beyond help!

I just stopped updating firmware since last year lol... I doubt they are gonna add new features to mini3 pro....

As Mini 3 Pro owner (Ordered and using since February 2023) I don't have any restrictions in Turkey. I don't know if Turkey has this regulations or not, I can reach altitude of 500m. Can't exceed 500m though.
And I am on latest firmware on DJI RC controller and on the drone too, BTW.

has anyone tried the latest updates and if it brings any height restrictions?

I have the last firmware on my Mini 3 Pro in Italy and no restrictions at all.

I can confirm that installing all the latest updates on Mini 3 Pro and on the DJI RC do not change the 500m height limit on a pre-2024 activated drone.
