Digging bait and sunrise.....


After we got over the joker shining his torch at the drone,  I got this rather nice sunrise shot with an unusual foreground interest.

Wow, that is a spectacular sunrise shot.    Bonus capturing the gent in the foreground with his torch.  Paid off to be out and about early this morning for sure.

I’ve used them in paella before and to be honest it was probably a waste.

At first I w thought he was digging bait,    but having seen him again the following day in better light I think he's digging razor clams.

Wasn't super familiar with the razor clam so had to check it out.

Razor clams are delicious. They are sweet, with low salinity. They are also versatile to cook. They are often steamed in their shell, or their meats can be breaded and fried, baked, broiled, or even made into ceviche. Citrus, simple salt and pepper, or even a spicy chile sauce will pair well with this mollusk to make a phenomenal dish.

Atlantic razor clams inhabit sandy or muddy beaches, estuaries and bays. They can burrow quickly and even have the ability to swim! During low tide, razor clams are revealed by a keyhole-shaped impression in the sand. If the razor clam becomes disturbed, it can shoot a stream of water out of the hole.

Yes, that is a bit pricey.  I think I'll stick with my jumbo shrimp and the occasional lobster.

The AI tools in photoshop are really low resolution so Ive not had good results when you have something that needs to be viewed bigger than Instagram.

Don't think I've ever eaten one that has been in a tube of ice.  I usually try to order them in advance from this one particular boat that has brought in some really nice lobster.
