Impressive lapse.    Still a lot of traffic on the roads.

I did. Thak you. Likewise. Today is a low visibility day. I was going out to Brooklyn NY and was hoping to catch some of it, but maybe another day.

I had to delay my day out on the jetski as I got a call to go dive today.  The bottom was pretty stirred up so we couldn't see much of the sunken ship.  Might be a place to go back.  

Excellent timelapse, the slow movement of the setting sun and the fast moving traffic, very compelling.

Yes but the ground was a little darker than I would have liked, but you can't have it all.

I have heard of it. I used to dream of finding a ship with gold on it but as you know most of them have more crud than valuables. It's fun to think about though. Do you do penetrations?

If you are speaking of shipwreck penetrations I rarely penetrate past the point where I can no longer see the natural light of the entrance.  I'm a bit risk averse when it comes to going below decks, etc.  Going below decks reminds me too much of cave diving.

Maybe on my next group dive I'll work up the courage.  Several of the guys I dive with are quite adventurous and they go anywhere and everywhere on the sunken ships.  Ever since a friend of mine got lost in a cave dive and ran out of air and died I've been very risk averse to tight places.

It's not all it's cracked up to be. Lots of the metal shops are rotting through. Too many hazards for the thrill. I did a WW2 ammunition ship in Bermuda that had an air pocket that you could hang out in and take off your mask and talk, and a tug that went down when the fron of a barge opened up. That was fun. Most of them are dangerous.

While scuba diving is generally safe, there are some risks associated with the activity and I just try to not increase those risks.

The vertical distance of the surface is enough without horizontal distance with obstacles. It's to easy to get a tank valve caught up in a doorway.

When I did that one and only cave dive there was a couple of places so tight I had to take the tank off my back and hold it out in front of me to lead me through this 20 foot long narrow passage.  There was barely enough room around me to wiggle through.  Fortunately it opened up into a huge opening but I had to go back through it a 2nd time on leaving the cave.  Talk about watching my air gauge closely.

Not my idea of a fun dive whatsoever.  Hence, why I avoid caves completely now.

I never did a cave. It's a little claustrophobic for me. At least in a boat the penetration is in order.  Caves wind and dip too much.

Cave-diving is one of the most challenging and potentially dangerous kinds of diving and presents many hazards.   5% of all scuba diving deaths occurred during cave dives.

I would have thought higher. and there are less cave divers than any other diver by far.

Not sure where they gathered their stats on that for the article.  I just know I'm pretty much done with cave diving.

Agreed.  This is the route I took and definitely not the next two.
