Searching for the finish line.......

So we learnt that there was a sponsored running race coming through the town and it seemed like a good oportunity to get a shot of the finish line and hopefully the awards,   sadly I was hunting in the wrong spot as SWMBOd mis read the information.

That was last night,   today I got up to sun,  and then it rained,   then some sun,   then after several miles of walking with SWMBOd more rain.   It really cannot make its mind up,   and frustratingly the forecast didnt have any rain this morning on it.

Full sun this morning,     quite a delight but as I got near home the wind was picking up again.   .  Did managed 3 flights though.

Well maybe,  but not what I risked the gale force wind to capture,  I was only about 8 miles short of the correct destination.

Dull, windy and threatening rain, but I went out anyway for a 5 mile stroll. And it didn't rain

I’m on walk 2 if the day.  Total 11 miles so far.   I should be hoovering.

Yes.   Although I’ll have to catch up shortly.  

Do you recognise this train?   Google tells me one was spotted near Matlock.

It's not one I recognise. We can't get direct to Matlock by train from here.
The section of line from Matlock up to Rowsley is a heritage line now, with a museum and classic rolling stock.

Sad to hear.  Guess that will keep the Avata 2 grounded.  Maybe you can still squeeze in a flight or two with the Mini 3 Pro or break out the Mavic 2 Pro if they can tolerate the winds you are getting.

Fair enough,  my googling said it could be East Midlands area,  but one post on Flickr was from near Matlock,    seemed a bit out of place on our local line.

Alright, now that's what I'm talking about - 3 full batteries flown.  You'll be building that muscle memory quickly at that rate.

A beautiful start to our day. Clouded over a bit on the way to our destination, but brightened up again by lunchtime. Picnic by the river, one full battery of the drone used up. Just got back.
