I was wondering how much it had improved it,    hopefully he will make a followup video.

I sort of got the impression he was going to keep it as a 'back-up' if he wipes out his 'normal' one. I'll watch it again.

Interesting find DA.    Quite the risky experiment.  I wonder how much the weight dropped after that drastic cut project?

I think he said the the whoops were 30g of weight reduction.

Wow, all that chopping and only reduced weight by 30g.  Hope that didn't change the aerodynamics too much.  

That's what it's all about. Aerodynamics have been changed. That's what this movie is about.

i saw this video on YT, and the difference seems pretty big.

not chopping up my A2 though.....

Now that is quite the mod.

People are buying non flying dead avata2’s for good money so I doubt I’ll ever do it.

Thank you for sharing your resolution. Take note that other than voided warranty risk there are purpose of the propeller guards designed on DJI Avata 2. Our engineers have redesigned the drone structure to reduce weight, which enables quieter flight, extended battery life, and decreased risk of damage in accidental collisions and turtle mode.

If you prefer a drone without propeller guards there are several option of drones without the guards  example DJI FPV.

Lol.  Me too.  .   I did see someone had got up to 89.3mph on reddit with theirs without this mod.

You mentioned if someone wants a drone without propellor guard to purchase the DJI FPV. What options do we have to purchase one? I only have seen used DJI FPVs for sale. DJI isn't even stocking propellors for the DJI FPV or batteries anymore.

Is it even possible for DJI to repair a broken DJI FPV? I have one with both front arms broken that I need to send back to DJI. And if I can get it repaired, I'm going to need propellors but prefer to get original DJI propellors but there don't seem to be any options other than third party manufacturers.

Reducing the weight of a drone by 10%, it is not "only". Flying with a drone whose weight has been reduced by 10% is an improvement that is noticeable from the first moment.
I am very happy and feel different when I can reduce the weight of some of my drones by 5%.
