The footage needs to tell a story (bottom line) to be cinematic. Flying an FPV drone through a hole in a hedge without crashing is not cinematography - just good flying skills which may compliment a cinematic production at best.

Yeah, and often it is a bit of a synonym for 'smooth' footage with slow moves.
But your description seems more to the point.

Indeed,  just flying smoothly and precisely does not necessarily mean cinematic. Flying at 70MPH can be very cinematic in the right context as is crashing a drone (if the story is about how not to fly one lol).

I would not categorize that as 'cinematic' but that just shows that the term does not always mean the same for everybody.
I'm associating it more with certain type of shots, but that is probably my own interpretation.

My specialty in a long law career was for Maritime Laws and International Laws however I dabbled in Real Estate law enough as a "hobby" that it helped many times over the years.  I guess you can never learn too much.  I just wish I had a photographic memory.
