Did you ever test the RC-N2? I am thinking of getting one to run with a tablet or my Samsung S23FE to see if I can run a mission with over 100 waypoints. I generate the maps using waypointmap.com and when I fly with the Air 3 / RC2, the DJI Fly app freezes and I get a message as the author did on the screen. Luckily, I always set Signal Loss to RTH so the drone comes back. I have to restart the RC2 to regain control and then try to fly the mission again. It is very frustrating. I will test tomorrow using the SD card on the controller as storage (A Kingston Canvas Go! Plus 128GB I bought from the DJI store with the drone, so it should be compatible
I think this is a serious issue DJI needs to look into. The app locking up is concerning. The RTH button gives me peace of mind, as well as the signal loss RTH, but what if the drone doesn't come back for some reason? It can't just lock up.RC2 with DJI Fly App v1.16.0(1135-dpad) + Air 3
I just ran a successful waypoint mission with 150 points. No lock ups, however, the catch is, you have to stay in camera view and put the attitude indicator bottom left, not the mini map. The map apparently is what causes the problem. The drone flew the mission just stopping when the battery drained (it took almost 3 batteries, large site). So DJI has to fix the map issue.
BTW, to prove it is the map, the aircraft if disconnected, I am on the controller trying to view the mission on the map, connected to mobile data, so maps should be online, and the app crashed and restarted. Interestingly, I had put in an SD card (approved my DJI, bought from the store), and once it restarted, it switched back to internal memory.
@DJI please take a look at the maps.
