Work is well advanced now, and scheduled to be complete by the end of Summer. Then the dam will slowly refill.

It's been five years since the work began. A major project.
So much foliage and bushes have grown on the exposed reservoir bed it's hard to see jujst how much bigger the surface area should be when it's full again.

I cant believe the spillway still hasn't been repaired,   or are they upgrading the system, and rerouting away from it.

I think the blue crane is getting stuff into place for that repair.

That didnt look tall enough to reach the top,  but that could be an illusion.

It is. I almost flew into it from above the dam
Not really, but I had to get higher to make sure I cleared it.

So it does look like some upgrades are happening down there with those two tanks being made from concrete.

I suspect thats part of the stilling basin to slow the water speed down before its released to the river.

It looks like you'll see it soon enough.

Once the work is complete and all the hoardings are removed, I'll re-create the shot. But that won't be until next year.
