Come on Dji, get your developers to properly test their FW before pushing it out to users. Now my RC 2 does not work after attempting to update to the latest FW via Dji Assistant 2. This should be covered under warranty???? Very disappointing @Dji

Another user, same problem. Dji Assistant does not recognise the RC 2 anymore. Dji we need a fix.

Your RC2 is bricked by an official release firmware update, and yet there hasn't been one response from DJI. These guys never hesitate to come here to thank people for posting rubbish; but whenever someone has a real problem they are nowhere to be seen.

Yeah, I opened a case with support and they say I must ship it to Aussie at my cost. I feel that is totally unfair. They should get it exchanged at the local Dji supplier here.

Have you tried to leave it ON when the 2 leds blink as Updating firmware, for around 30 minutes?
If not, give it a try.

It was connected to Assistant 2 for 2 hours while updating and just sat at 2% updating. Power cycle it and that video is the result.

If it can, try another fw refresh only for RC

I can't believe you did that Suren...

You have been here long enough to know that you shouldn't simply install DJI FW, before at least a few weeks/month of keeping an eye on the forum to see what new bugs they have introduced...

I know the temptation is high, but look around you...

I hope you didn't brick the radio...

Edit:

I know this won't help, but I once got a brick Futaba radio while updating the software, and even if I didn't do anything wrong while waiting for the update to complete (and it never did), I was charged by the Futaba Repair Centre in Sydney around $80 at the time for their labour...

Considering that with DJI, this seems to be appening more often lately, perhaps DJI should fix those bricked radion on good will and not trying to blame the consumer by charging them for the job...

Hi Mindy, the dealer details are below with their reference number. I gave them the Dji Case number and they recorded that in their return. I also showed them the email from Dji that the Case number must accompany the RC2.

I just checked the ACCC Recall, and I can't find anything under DJI, Drone (there is an old one from Kogan) or Air 3...

If DJI had a recall in Australia, I think it would be listed there...

But if it doesn't show up there in time, it is not a recall

I refuse to think that DJI has sold drones that do have safety issues for the public and did not notify the relevant authority of such concern...

They always play with us regarding their firmware updates, but I don't believe for a second that they would play with our laws...

This is just a thought, but perhaps they have no stock of the Air 3 and are simply trying to gain time so to be able to send you a new Air 3S instead...

They just didn't expect you to go public...

I wonder why then I was told that and sent the list of serial numbers by Noel Lemmings. Anyways, I did not give them my drone. Went in today to the store and I asked to see an offical recall from Dji which they said will be at Head Office. I said my drone is fine and I just need the RC replaced. They will get back to me tomorrow.

Hi Mindy, they insisted I hand in the drone has well but I refused. I will follow up with them today about the Cat number and let you know.

inspection of your DJI AIR 3 FMC RC2 has been completed and I am
pleased to let you know that the fault has been confirmed as covered
under warranty.

The inspection revealed that the following components need to be replaced:
- Remote Controller Upper Shell Module (Incl. Touchscreen)

Remote Controller Upper Shell Module (Incl. Touchscreen) was
malfunctioned,which caused no image on screen;SN may change. Test will
be performed after repair.

We will keep you informed of the progress.

A new replacement RC 2 was given to me today. Updated and it did it super quick and everything works as it should. The previous RC 2 used to take a while to update and this one flew through the update so it must have been defective from the start.
