How do I link/ activate/ get everything set up? Note, I'm a very experiennced RC guy, many years in the hobby..thanks, Jeff

Play store will often say your device is incompatible, try downloading the app from the official DJI download page.

You need to activate it with either the DJI Assistant 2 (consumer drone series) program or with the DJI Fly App.  Which Goggles did you get with your Avata 1?  If you have the Integra Goggles, then you don't need to use the Fly App when you're flying.  But you need to have a compatible phone connected if you're using the Goggles 2 or Goggles V2

I had a similar dilemma when I got the Avata 2.  I ended up installing DJI Fly on a friend's phone to get a running, but I haven't needed to use DJI Fly since.  I ended up buying a cheap, but decent, Android phone to use with DJI Fly in the future.

Thanks gents, I sincerely appreciate the responses and help.

Ok, so what I know from the DJI website is that for android, the phones MUST BE 64-bit. My Galaxy A13 is 32-bit, which is why I keep getting errors when trying to load the app ("this phone is not compatible" etc etc etc). If I were to find a friend at our club with a compatible phone (apple or android), can I use his to set mine up? And assuming that works, I won't need dji fly again?

But part 2: I have to connect a phone to this thing when flying?? Why is this, for the GPS/location services thing from the phone? And if so, and my phone doesn't have dji fly, then...what?

Finally- I've downloaded dji assistant 2 to both my Win 10 pc & laptop...so I'd use this program update firmware on each component, one at a time?

Again, gents, really appreciate this!! My combo arrives Monday

Hi there,

Thank You for reaching out. We are truly sorry for the inconvenience you are experiencing. Avata 1 currently support Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy A54 and Samsung Galaxy A53 which requires Android 7.0 or above. Generally, devices not listed as supported mobile devices can also be used if their system versions are the same or later than those published on the DJI official website (Beta system versions may not be compatible), but their stabilization has not yet been verified. It is recommended that you download and install the app to test the basic functions, or go to a nearby outlet (if any) for product testing. I hope this information has helped to clarify your inquiries. If you have any other questions, kindly let us know. Thank You!

Dear Gamora, thanks for the response and info

Let me step thru this- pls reply and this should be the final post.

For the Avata 1 I just ordered:

A) DJI Fly must be loaded on phone and connected to Goggles 2 in order to take off

B) My 32-bit Galaxy 13 5G (running android 13) is not among the currently supported android phones; thus, the phone cannot the load DJI Fly app, therefore

C) I'm not able to fly the Avata 1 I just ordered, due to DJI Fly being incompatible w/ my Galaxy

Does that about sum it up?
